The CIRL is also supported by technical staff at the UK ATC and the Edinburgh University School of Physics.

We have links with the Rutherford Appleton Lab, which has facilities for measuring thermal and mechanical properties of materials down to 4 K (contact: Tom Bradshaw) and with Cryox, a company formed to commercialise cryogenic and superconducting technology.

We also collaborate with Guglielmo Ventura's group at the University of Florence; work here on thermal property measurements concentrates on ultra-low temperatures (to temperatures below 100 mK).

We would like to thank Matt Hollister for all the help he has given us in setting up the laboratory, and Adam Gray for his work analysing thermal conductivity measurements.
